چکیده
National space law in general aims to implement a State's obligations under the UN Space Treaties authorize and supervise public private sector activities limit liability risk exposure of State. However, Earth observation data regulation is becoming increasing importance as becomes more mature, although until recently only few States have enacted legislation for activities. The purpose this article review situations five countries that so far created regulations, namely Canada, France, Germany, Japan, United States. relevant laws regulations each country are reviewed assessed, followed by identification common trends legislation. conclusions point growing need nations focus on result technology developments, national security considerations, increased international competition.

Modeling Earth Observation Satellite Data Semantically
This paper presents preliminary research results on using semantic technologies to model Earth observation satellite data. The research goal is to enhance the data search functionalities that satellite data catalogues provide to researchers and practitioners. An ontology that captures characteristics of satellite data is introduced. How to utilize this ontology in assisting data search and how ...
متن کاملSatellite earth observation in operational oceanography
The role and contribution of satellite data in operational oceanography is reviewed, with emphasis on northern European seas. The possibility to observe various ocean parameters and processes by existing satellite sensors, such as optical instruments, infrared radiometers, passive Ž . microwave radiometers, and active microwave systems altimeter, scatterometer, SAR is discussed. The basic param...
متن کاملOptimized Filtering and Compression System for an Earth Observation Satellite
Most earth observation satellites in their daily image processing routine operate using the “store and forward” mechanism; this mode of operation is not efficient due to the huge amount of data that has to be stored on-board the satellite (but cannot due to memory constraints). The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) 3U CubeSat named ZACUBE-02 will perform the filtering and compressi...
متن کاملSatellite Earth observation data to identify anthropogenic pressures in selected protected areas
Protected areas are experiencing increased levels of human pressure. To enable appropriate conservation action, it is critical to map and monitor changes in the type and extent of land cover/use and habitat classes, which can be related to human pressures over time. Satellite Earth observation (EO) data and techniques offer the opportunity to detect such changes. Yet association with field info...
